Calling all young engineers!

The MTA’s annual engineering challenge for schools is back for 2017!

The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) is once again, opening up their national Technology, Design and Innovation Challenge (TDI) to students aged 14-19. The competition encourages students to submit their existing Design & Technology coursework or project (but also welcome projects created specifically for the TDI challenge), for the chance to win some fantastic prizes including an iPad, GoPro, Drone (full list on their website), as well as a £1000 worth of DT equipment vouchers for the winning school in each category. This year, students can now enter as a group collaboration as well as individually.

This is also a fantastic opportunity for students who are interested in a career in the field of manufacturing and engineering as finalists get a tour of a modern manufacturing plant and networking with local engineering firms.

“The MTA recognises the importance of allowing students to realise their potential from an early age, and wishes to support schools and colleges in encouraging the wide range of skills that can be utilised for a career in engineering”.

– James Selka, CEO, MTA
